Development on federally leased airport land is subject to a unique planning and building approval framework. The project was also required to address a range of site-specific aviation and regulatory requirements associated with development adjacent to an operational airport environment, including applicable Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) requirements.

Plan Project Management developed and managed the planning strategy and staged procurement of development and infrastructure approvals across the estate, including obtaining the required Airport Building Controller (ABC) and Airport Lessee Company (ALC) consents.

The development of Gateway required extensive infrastructure works, including extension of the existing HV feeder from the airport’s embedded electrical network, sewer main diversion, gas main extensions, diversion of major telecommunications infrastructure, and construction of a new cul-de-sac and associated road infrastructure.
